The Savettes
The Savettes of Philadelphia continue to sing under the anointing that God placed on them over 50 years ago. Their rich and beautiful sound is like none other in the rich heritage of Philadelphia ’s gospel music landscape. They are the epitome of excellence in singing praises unto the Lord. Through the years The Savettes have been known for their unparalleled renditions of the great hymns of the church.
Their beginning was as a small group of young friends who gathered together to fellowship in the member’s homes. But in one of those meetings, God revealed himself like never before and the spirit of the Lord fell upon them and it was ordained that they would sing God’s praises with power, strength and a strong commitment to the Word of God.
The ministry of the Savettes has extended to churches, prisons, hospitals, nursing homes and wherever the people of God are in need. They have sung with many great gospel groups including Mahalia Jackson, The Hawkins Family, the late Rev. James Cleveland and many others. They are still remembered for their appearance at the first Gospel Music Workshop of America in Detroit , MI as they sang “Songs of Praises”
The Savettes have recorded several albums and CD’s but none is like the music you will hear today. Prepare yourself because you will be lifted to a new level of joy and hope and as you listen, you will feel the very presence of God. “To God Be The Glory”.
